Just sharing finds local to my county but not from my side of the county and the area is called Johns River. One of my sons went to our local flea market today and found a gallon baggy of pottery for sale that someone had found in fields in the Johns River area. He was asking $25 for it but sold it to my son for $10. When I took them out of the bag to wash there were also some bonuses, a soapstone bowl fragment, a little broken drill, a Morrow Mtn base and a spear base that looks like it might have been a Savannah River, pink quartzite spear tip, misc flakes that are either rhyolite or argalite, maybe a couple of scrapers and other misc whatevers lol but all typical of this area. Also, a stone that may have been part of a larger nutting mortar. Thanks for the look! HH

Nice rescues.

Nice stuff, well worth the $10 , is the broken drill the quartz piece ?

The nutting stone is a nice bonus! How large is it?

Looks to have been a rectangle but it's 5" from the end to the break and 7" the other way and not quite 2" thick. Has the drill spots on the other side too and they look like a sort of pattern.

I tell you what if Sherds ever become rare you will be a millionaire. It sure was nice of him to think of you when he saw them. Sounds like a good son that loves his mom.

Good stuff and you didn't have to get all wet and muddy to get it !!

Now that was a nice treat!
