I would guess no, The color doesn't look the same. Here is a link that explains this...If I understand it correctly all the real examples are accounted for. But I may have read that wrong.

If real they are property of the U.S. government and must be turned in. Illegal to own? Maybe? According to the article.
So, I'd say your friend was scammed. or found the reproductions.

These are fake. This scam pops up on here from time to time. Typically its from people smart enough to ask about something being offered for sale to them. Hopefully you didn't pay a penny for them!
