I went out today for a quick hunt at one of my favorite spots. It was hot today, and this place is an open field with zero shade, so I was dripping sweat in no time.

I wasn't at it it very long before I got a deep and faint midtone signal (17-18 on my Nox). I've been making a conscious effort to dig more of these kind of targets, so I cut a plug and started digging. About 10 inches down I uncovered a green and toasty 1884 Indian Head cent, definitely a nice start for the day:

After another 90 hot and sweaty minutes of digging clad and junk, I got a solid quarter signal in the outfield of a baseball field. I dug the target, and was rewarded with the beautiful sight of a silver coin in the hole:

It was a 1943-D Quarter, the fourth silver quarter I've found in my past five hunts.

More than happy with these finds, I decided to declare victory and head home for a cold drink or two. Hope everyone enjoyed their July 4th weekend - HH!
