This is a pic looking south. Hard pan will be covered for a while.

Another two million dollars spent on beach "renourishment." A government euphemism for "waste of taxpayer money." How long till it all washes away?

Sick how they destroyed the beach's with inland sand. My day's on the coast are almost over. It was there best commodity. In a few more years they may wake up and get a confirmation. Then it will be to late to fix.

There are 2 different projects going on at the same time. County is putting 200000 cubic yards of sand at carlin park. The state is adding 100000 cubic yards of sand to the south inlet beach. The carlin park project, you see convoys of dump trucks coming from St Lucie county. The inlet is getting sand from down south by way of barges.

That's not cool! Maybe they'll bring something good to you though. When they did our area beaches south of you, it shut us down. It'll be fresh drops and maybe something can blow out from the bottom from time to time. I feel your pain. There's always swinging your coil over display cases in jewelry stores but only as a last resort.

Within 5 yrs, I'm sure we'll be having to dredge the port channel and lanes, down here! :BangHead:

I remember when they pumped out the channel to fill in the South side of the channel. Look at what's there now. It's been over five years and you still can't hunt and find much. Guess how long it's going to be for this area? They did the same to St.Pete beach and Treasure Island last year. Where next? AAHHHHHHH!

i was told by one of the crew dumping sand up here,if there are no storms in the next 5 years you can expect it to last about that long!!!! i would love to see some storms in 2015 to show the renourishment backers that is a waste of money!!!

chuck.

They are using a big screen also. I spoke with a lady from army core of engineers. She said that they require these screens now with a specific hole size. Ok so they not only spend the dollars like crazy they also want to keep the goodies. What brought down the roman empire? Maybe GREED.

I hunted both of these places all the summer of 2013 and they were pumping the sand in at that time. So...lot's of it must have been washed out again if they are doing it again. And when I get to my son's home again after I move back to Florida, I will be detecting here again. Come to think of it...I found a beautiful .925 sterling charm bracelet here, made in Italy, loaded with charms and with pave diamonds id most of the charms.... in perfect condition. And a small gold hoop earring with a diamond in it, and money- even paper money. So don't get your hopes down....you never know! Good Luck. Maybe I'll do a shout out to youz' guyz' when I'm down, ok?
