nothing big or exciting to post just felt like dropping by the forum.
A couple days ago I eyeballed this piece f olive jar on the treasure coast it's the first piece of anything shipwreck I've seen after what seems like a very long sanded in time... It's a start for me anyway I'm happy the summer is over since I'm not working on a salvage boat and am relegated to the beach.

Does the outside of piece have anything on it?

The first photo is the outside.
Its just a section of olive jar (bojita)

Yes, I can see now it is the outside, looking at the bottom edge on the piece of 1st photo.

The entire face facing the camera in the first photo is the exterior of the vessel

I tried cropping, enlarging, color balancing the pic, couldn't tell before if the piece had any markings.

There's not typically any markings on that type of vessel they were storage vessels for transporting goods aboard ship they weren't really decorated they were basically the 50 gallon drum of the day

This isn't like a piece of Native American pottery its just a storage container

Some of the containers were individually marked for identification purposes.. These weren't treated as showpieces

So, the surface probably wouldn't have needed the fine finished, smooth outside as other pottery.

Thanks for posting pics, GB. I wonder if I have walked right over any of those. Now that I know what to look for, I'll keep an eye out.
