Was able to get out to one of our local ghost towns for some digging today. We have hit this town the last ten years and someone always at least gets something. I was able to find another baggage claim fob. We have a few from here which belonged to he old NCO railroad. This one though has me stumped. I know nothing about it; so if anyone has any info to share, that would be great.

We have started removing the top six inches of dirt because of all the metal and square nails near the top. Since doing this we are starting to find more stuff buried. It is a lot of work but its worth it. Thanks for looking.

No idea on the ID but a very cool find. Congrats.

Those are some nice railroad tags.:occasion14:

My guess would be Rail road tags but there was also an Overland stage coach route and the Overland Hotel in the samr time slot as these tags would be. Just a thought.

These were the two ideas that came to my mind. Great find!

Nice baggage tags,vanzutphen

I really like it.
Congrats on a cool find.

Could be from the Overland Hotel in Reno. Opened in 1903 and torn down in 1977. If I remember correctly a few of these tags were dug in Carson City back in the 70's or 80's.

Thanks Ironman! That would make sense since this tag was found near the old Amedee Hotel here in CA. It had been built around 1891 and torn down in the 40's!
