A very short hunt this morning produced NO hits in the water at all but I eyeballed a pair of silver-looking earrings in the dry sand as I was leaving. I am getting so desparate that I even picked up a kids sand mold this morning just so I wouldn't come home empty handed. Sheesh! ::) The earrings are pretty though and look like a very recent drop. And even though it was a very short hunt, I did get out. I'll take it!

A poor hunt is 1000% better than no hunt!!! Ya got to hear a few beeps anyway to satisfy your addiction! Thanks for sharing!

yeah you are lucky as often as you get to go out.

I can only hunt the weekends and come Tuesday, I am already climbing the walls to hunt again.

The next time you get out, take a deep breath relax, and let your mind wander while you are meandering around the water. Think to yourself, what a lovely sunrise, or the water sure is nice today, or remember times when you were a kid and went to the beach.
In other words quit trying so hard to find something and just let it happen. The more you want something the harder you look, the less likely it is to find it.

There have been times I have been in the water chanting to myself...gold gold gold, then silver silver, quarter, come on even a penny, on really distressing days I have settled for a pull tab. Thank God I have never been so desperate to have to call out for a bottle cap yet :tongue3: Usually by this time I readjust my attitude and say it doesn't matter if I find gold today, or even clad. I got a few hours to myself to just be myself and that alone is amoung my greatest finds.

Anything that falls into the wearable category, which your earrings definitely are, is a great find. Part of the fun of this hobby is the variety of stuff that we find.

Mumszie, you are going to hit big, and soooon, I can sense it...good luck...

A pair of earrings... now that is strange. I've never found a pair. One at a time...

The funny part is that she probably took them off so she wouldn't loose them in the water, then lost them in the sand.

A pair of earrings is kinda strange but just a pair of bottle caps that's really strange !!!

That's nice to find a pair and they look nice too. The person left them there thinking they didn't want to lose them in the water. That's why dry sand hunting is also profitable. I have seen just as many rings being pulled out of the dry. So many of us only find one and wish to find the matching one.....

Don't feel bad about picking up the toys; at least you can give it a good home. I couldn't believe all the stuff that I see left behind, 90% of it good stuff, not broken. I pick up things all the time for my son. I have even seen nice lawn chairs, blankets, towells, tents, kites, spray on sunblock ($7 a can), kick boards, etc. I thought the country was bad economically for everyone. I can't understand why people would just leave behind this stuff, it costs money.

I like many look forward to your posts. Keep them coming.

Mumzie, perhaps one day you will reveal the secret of your photographic skills.
As hard as I try, my photos never come out right. mostly color problems.

Chin up and keep plugging away.

I look forward to your posts! Keep them coming and nice ear rings.
