I really want to dig a bottle dump. We should get a group together and see what we can dig up. I know where a few are but they prolly aren't more than 50-60 years old but I am always lookin. We could make a day of it and BBQ too. Just a thought to put on the back burner till after winter.

Winter is bottle digging season Fiend!

I stumbled across a nice bottle site on the banks of the Fox River in Aurora. It stretches for at least 50 yrds along the bank. Its actually connected with a park that we have permission to MD. The area was littered with broken pieces of embossed bottles that all had the cork type necks. Apparently Aurora was dumping garbage there to shore up the eroding river banks back in the 1800's. I haven't done any digging there yet, but did find one intact embossed bottle that reads "Pineoleum Physicians Sample.
Nice area for a barbecue also!
