Just a very short walk today. I just stopped by a place I'd been before but hadn't been back to all summer. Was curious if any of the silver crop had come up yet. Wasn't.

But, if you dug a fair to middlin' hole and saw this lying in the bottom at first glance. What would you have thought?

Well, I will confess. I sat back on my heels very quickly! Even closed my eyes and said a small prayer
hoping that what I saw was what it was really. LOL

Alas, and alack, but, no.

Still, a bit of fun, ya know? :)

Here's the rest:

I think Blingy and Fishy were a little unsure about this one. ;)

It should be noted, I'm no where near to Canada. :)

AND, I'm even further from Spain! LOL

Thanks for peeking!

I know what ya mean. Was hunting behind a school and saw one of these sticking down in the soil thinking, Holy Crap! Turned out to be Euro Clad but my imagination went wild for a split second. :laughing7:

Great finds Gary. Those surprises always turn out wrong for me too lol.

I've found some wierd coins from other countries and thought to myself "what the?, how the?" Makes u wonder how they got there

Nothing proves your more alive than seeing something in the hole you just dug that looks like a gold coin! Oh ya gets the blood pumping for sure! Your just not too sure what to do with yourself after.

I'm sure those two will find a good use for that.

Hey, for what it's worth it "was" a gold coin for a brief time before it wasn't. It's all in the hunt!

Yeah, but, I firmly believe it ought to be a GLOBAL law that no coin can have even the color of yellow unless it is gold!

In fact, the color yellow itself oughta be banned! ONLY GOLD!!! ;)

But of course, to quote, "......nothing gold can stay." :dontknow:

At least I still have my 40 gram "gold" lacrosse medallion. ;)

Thanks!

Always loved getting the foreign coins here !! Got 12 quarters on my hunt yesterday , pretty good haul for out here, in the land of diminished finds !!

Been there done that 2. Found a brass Islamic coin with a 1600 date, then found out that's by the Islamic calender and it was fairly modern

Well, in truth, they don't always turn out wrong for me. I just happened to allow my mind to wander to thoughts
of a gold coin just before I found that one. LOL

It's still out there. More reason for me to just keep trying. :)

Yeah, I don't get surprised as much anymore but sometimes, even a gold colored pull tab will get the pump started. LL

I wonder about that sometimes. Just how many "show & tell" items that were pilfered from the parent's collection, wound up in the ground. Would explain quite a few finds.

Thanks!

That would be a VERY interesting add to a future metal detector! A voice that would be able to give chapter and verse about anything found! ;) I'd love to hear it!

I'm watching your coins and pieces you found and that whoever hid aprece was also a collector coins in Europe have good value in the Mexican market, the rest are interesting variation of parts.

let about five years and will be worth an amount sold together

Those "different" finds are what keeps me coming back. I call them exit finds. It's that one or two special little gifts given that just plain keeps it interesting.
