At least that's what it felt like :( I visited my field's at Sharpsburg yesterday after work and found my favorite corn field to be half cut, also noticed the tractor with two flat front tire's.Like a kid in a candy store I started swingin' away.About a 20 min.'s later the farmer came rolling up in his truck with 2 fresh tire's.We exchanged hello's and then it happened......seem's he's going to be bowhunting this field and doesn't want anyone to be in or around it until the end of the seaon......JAN 31!!!!!!!!.What can you do except finish out the rest of the evening and that's excactly what I did.For about a total of 2 hr.'s this is what I managed to bring home....all about 30 yd.'s into the field.A scabbard tip,.58,.36 pistol,buck,gromett,2 P-cap's,lead piece's and a button back from a cuff...Extra Quality.Thank's for looking and HH!!

I have to get me one of those coils for my MXT!

Which coil is that?

Nice finds. Ask the farmer to notify you when he gets his deer and is done hunting. May be just a week or two.

Ah man!!! I hate that... Hopefully I can come up with some spots for you and Ty to hunt here soon!!!

Oh well. We've gotta live with it. I would much rather hear that from an owner than for them to boot me off for no reason.

That's a nice variety of finds you dug. The scabbard tip makes me think there is still some good brass left in that spot--because that's a good signal to get.

Best Wishes,

Buck

to bad on the hunting ban until Jan, but at least you found some nice things before he closed it

The coil is the 10" double D (D2).....Awesome

Great finds for 2 hours. I know what you mean buddy. Just like last week, Got back to the truck and had a note from farmer saying to many people coming around and he is suppending relic hunting and check back next year. I had someone show up a few times when I was there with a truck load of people. I know Amy and I had permission but I think the other person blew it. Just in time for all the corn to be cut and plowed the woods (where I know there are plates) to die down. 400 acres down the drain this year. Yep the D2 coil rocks on the MXT for sure good luck tomorrow.

be sure and tell him -- I'll work extra hard to get all that pesky metal stuff that flattened your tractors's tires out of the feild . :icon_thumright: that way he'll love ya to bits -- and let you keep on metal detecting it --seems like a sweet spot if you got all that in 1 short hunt . --gotta wonder what he hit to flattten both the tires at once --old bayonets --swords -- who knows what ?

yo C

From the land of the Bluenose....such is detecting. Sort of allergic to arrows piercing me body or anything else. Cool scoffs!

Joe,
Just bring the guy a few deer off the road to save him some time, and get back to detecting. ;D :tongue3:
Sorry to hear you have a bit of a wait. I have a place like that too. The land is leased by a hunting club, so I have to wait until January. :-\ At least that will give Ty time to figure out his strategy on how to beat you. :laughing9:
Nice relics. I like that albino 3-ringer.
Congrats,
Doug

That is a bummer, maybe he will tag out early, great finds byw!

Not sure about your laws, but probably a limit. Did you ask him to call you if he gets his deer?

Tim

Yep, deer season sucks but around here, if they weren't thinned out, you wouldn't be able to drive at night without hitting one. Some of my best spots are off limits now until Jan. 1. At least you know what is waiting for you come Feb. Best of luck!
Mike

What can we say, Joe. John is at least not mad at us for anything,
We've had a great run on his property. Maybe he'll do a whole bunch
plowing while we are waiting.

Those are some sweet finds Civil  :headbang:

Hope you find some new hunting grounds for the summer.

The guy sounds square to me. I dont blame him at all. Sounds like you are welcome after the season ends and then yours begins .
Nice relics.
Regards,
