I got to search a little bit of an old site this afternoon and I had a good feeling about it. Dating back to at least the mid-1800s, just by accident I figured there would be something. First signal, Indian. At home, after a bit of cleaning, I have 186something. I'll have to do some more work on that. After a few rifle shells I got an inconsistent signal. Digging in bone dry soil, I popped out a 1904 Barber quarter. Puzzled that such a coin would give a weird signal, I put the coil over the hole again (which I would have done in any case). 1913 Barber dime. Still a signal. Looks possibly like a 1918 on the Buff. It's been years since I found a multiple spill that old, like maybe a Seated quarter with four Indians, so this was a very pleasant surprise. Finished with an '06 Indian. Can't do long hours like I used to, so I left quite pleased with what rested in my pocket. I was happy to free this trio after maybe 90 years cooped up together!

What a great hunt !

Congrats. There's nothing like the excitement of finding an old coin and then learning there are more targets left in the hole.

That was a signal a lot of detectorist would have passed over.Congrats on your digs.

Congrats on the Barbers and Buffalo!

The worst is when it turns out the other object is a headstamp or something. lol.
