Just One Silver Coin Today! ...But It's a Big One!

Today I went back to the area where I found those 3 barber dimes last month. After about 2 hours worth of swinging I get a perfect hit at 3 1/2 inches.
My eyes probably looked liked saucers when I saw this big silver half dollar! It's a 1942-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar! These big coins are always a thrill
to find, it never gets old! Also dug up two silver rings, (one of them is suspect as to being real sterling?) 3 wheaties, a Seagrams Whiskey Token,
and about $ 9.00 in clad coins.

I did a short hunt today late afternoon but it was miserable even in the shade. Had a bit of a breeze at start but it died down, got a few clad but that was it. Dug around 50 pull-tabs it seems. At least I got some swinging practice in, had not been hunting for 4 or 5 days, rough going.

I don't have to tell you that the Walker and the rings are great finds but I LOVE that whiskey token. Sometimes the oddball items I see posted on here attract me more than the "stars of the show", so to speak.

It's actually a median strip that's had a lot of foot traffic for almost 100 years. It has lots of trees and bushes to hunt around and quite a lot of trash as well.
That half was my 27th silver coin from this area. It amazes me that with all the hunters we have out here I've never seen any one else hunt it
