WELL JUST WENT THROUGH 100 IN DIMES. ALL FROM THE FED. ALL I FOUND WAS 1 CANADIAN DIME (1968). I KNOW THIS COULD BE 50% SILVER SO I WEIGHED IT. IT WEIGHS 2.15 GRAMS. THIS IS IN BETWEEN THE TWO WEIGHTS I HAVE LISTED. I HAVE THE CLAD AS BEING 2.07 G AND THE SILVER CLAD AS BEING 2.33 G??? NOW I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO MAKE OF IT???? ANY IDEAS????
STILL HAVE 210 DOLLARS IN HALVES TO GO THROUGH TONIGHT. HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE WIFE TO GET HOME TO DO THEM. SHE IS LOOKING FOR HER 1ST BEN AND WOULD KILL ME IF I WENT THROUGH THEM WITHOUT HER.
GOOD HUNTING! ;D

GOOD LUCK!!! KEEP US POSTED ON THE HALVES! ;D

Ken, I believe you're interested in shouting.

KEN DOVE: YES, I'M INTERESTED IN SHOUTING, ALL RIGHT! BY JOVE, YOU'VE HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD WITH THAT PARTICULAR OBSERVATION THEN!!!!

Your dime is probably clad, judging by the weight. Better luck with the halves.

:-\
Don't really understand the last post but thanks. Reason I asked about the weights was that it was somewhere in between the two posted weights. At 2.15 g it did not match up.
Good Hunting!

Hey 823, why not find a Ben and then salt a roll with it and let her find it. You might start the New Year off with a bang. Good Luck, Jim

;D ;D ;D
I did that with her first Walking Liberty, Thats how she got so excited about CRHing. She is hooked now!

Good Hunting!

P.S.
Would say if she found a Ben that i would get the new year started right ;D ;D :o

You should be able to tell easily by simply looking at it. Does it have the silvery patina that clad halves have? Do you have a known clad Canadian dime you can compare it to?

Easiest way to check the 1968 Canadian dimes/Quarters is to test it with a magnet. If it sticks, its not silver.
