King George II half penny , the bust style make this minted from 1727 to 1739 . Found in Sussex Co. , De. My first in this area and my oldest coin by far. Not sure about the button, plain back flat.

Congrats on the old copper, never saw a button with a square hole, don't know the size but maybe a lantern wick adjuster?

You're on the positive side of things if you can get an ID on an old copper. That's a lot better than a smoothie. Nice find!

It totally goes in the win column! It seems to have a good deal of detail in spite of how porous it is. Congrats on it being your oldest, I agree with young head call.
