Most folks only associate mining with Summit County, but ranching played a big part in the history of the area. In spite of the winter snow amounts, the Blue River Valley produces fine pasture for cattle and horses, and a lot of ranches are still in operation to this day. We stopped off and checked out this site along the Blue River up north of here today.
