I picked this up a few years ago at a yard sale because it felt like good art. I finally got to looking it up and I have found that Sean Keating painted many portraits of Irish peasants. This painting looks like a peasant, possibly Irish. The signature is all capitalized and looks exactly like Sean Keating's signature. The character before the signature sort of looks like a C until you look closer... it is like a box without the right side. If that was how the artist wanted to make a C, then why is the G curved and not squared also? Also the character is larger than the rest in the signature. It appears to be impressionist art and the frame and paper on the back look to me to be from the mid 1900s, which I think would be Sean Keating's heyday. Do I have something here or what? Any input would be great!
