Would be an intresting place to search, although
I Find that one doubtfull.

altho I was a child back then, so I Don't remember the date.

does anyone know the weather for that day December 9, 1965 ?
was it an unseasonably warm day ?

if it had continued could it have traveled to Schuylkill county ?
on an angle something like this ?

!!!490px-Pennsylvania_Locator_Map_with_US.JPG

I Remember the family being in the yard. early evening just getting dark out
and all of a sudden hearing what sounded like a Ultra fast Jet getting
louder & Louder, Everyone turned their head & looked
and a large Fireball about the size of a 2 Story House
with a long tail of fire come over the trees, I'd swear
it could have lit them on fire it looked that close.
Some of the Neighbors though it landed (Crashed) about a quarter mile away.

I Knew better even at about 10 years old, because
of the speed & Size the earth would have Shook
& It would have made a large Bang.

The Earth Felt like it Shook as it got closer & Closer
But not like what a Crash would cause.

Just wondering if it was the same one or one like it,
wouldn't there have been no doubt from anyone,
if it had crashed right outside Kecksburg ?

One report I read said "it was a warm December night".
Are you saying you witnessed this Jeff?
I think the men in black may want to speak with you.

That is soooo cool. I would love to find a meteor. Thats what finally pushed me to buy a metal detector in the first place. I'm sure there are some to be found in PA.

After seeing it I Got obsessed with U.F.o.'s & Flying Saucers
for about 7 years . Buying magazines Everytime I saw a new one. Even had my parents watching for the Magazines
when they went shopping.

Meteorite can be found everywhere. been falling since the Beginning of time.
Most is Dust though. Got alot of possables over the years,
but nobody to confirm
& No Inkling to send them away. they just keep adding up.

No Doubt about that.

I'v had too many Expierences over the years to doubt it.

but I doubt they'll ever admit it.
too easy to call believers nuts and leave it like that.

I remember seeing it...and I'm in Western Pa.
It was cool out for December, but not frigid.

I remember all the people in the house celebrating my moms birthday while us kids were out on the porch escaping the smoke filled rooms.

We heard it before seeing it....and it was huge!

Size wise, to put it in perspective, if you dowsed a basketball in gasoline and tossed it over the roof of the house, that's how big it looked. Looked very close.

We all freaked out and ran into the house yelling about it.

I never heard anything about Kecksburg until a few years ago and I was able to recall that it was the same meteor?..that everyone was talking about.

It was pretty slow moving too...not a typical meteor. And I've watched a lot of meteors. My nickname kinda explains what my other hobby was.

I'd bet there's been someone that detected that...probably a townie that was overly curious why the gov't carted it away.
An acorn shaped UFO...maybe...a satellite from another planet...maybe....

We got some funny looking satellites in space.....some just going and going, further out into space where we no longer have contact with them. A few hundred thousand years from now...who knows what planet they might crash on and let the inhabitants wonder where it came from. ???

Yes...I believe.....Carl Sagan said we'd have to be pretty vain to think we are the only creatures in all of space. "There are more stars in the sky than grains of sand on all the earth."

I'd still like to check that out tho...you know...a place is never totally hunted out......

alien space junk.....Oh yea!!!

Very interesting. I always watch this stuff on TV, and and beileve in it. I always did, and that was before i seen a UFO flying in the sky when i was hunting about 5 years ago. Silver/bluish metal like it was trying to camo itself to the sky. It went in front of the sun and glared in my eyes. Thats how i knew it was real. It took off so fast over the mountain the whole sky filled with heat waves. That FREAKED me out!!!!!

Reminds me of that Star Trek episode where the satellite got infected by some alien being and was bent on destroying carbon based life forms....

It was one of the first launched and was suppose to beam back info to earth...and once Capt. Kirk realized all it wanted to do was download it's info and fulfill it's purpose...everything was okay and earth was spared....

Something like that anyhow.

Then there was that night I was at a party and took that funny little pill....saw all kinds of UFO's that night... :o

One of my favorite pics from the Hubble space telescope. A deep sky view of thousands of galaxies....
