Hi all. Well I went back to the spot with a shovel....LOL.... It didn't take long to uncover this rather large donut shaped iron object. I think it must have been some sort of bearing housing from years ago. Oh well, now I can put it to rest.

So I left there and hit the ball park. Got some clad quarters and a few clad dimes. I was out and didn't want to get skunked.

So better luck next time.....half the fun is in looking.......

lol Crusader.... I spent an entire summer in Skelmersdale, England in '77. I think it lasted about 2 hours.......
