Found this yesterday. I have been trying to find more information on it, like time period they would have been made and any other history on this button. I was using an Equinox 600 and this was the first day of actually hunting with it [been out about half hour in back yard previously]. Thanks

Thanks, this was found in Central Kentucky area.

It's a Civil War period button. They can get pricey. Don't overclean it. I'd mechanically clean it only. With that backmark it was made pre War and is considered a Southern school button. It's a great find.

Congrats on an excellent button find.

Smokey is right. That is a good school button, CW period, and considered Confederate by collectors. Worth a few hundred dollars.

Thank you all for the information, I really appreciate the help you all have given me.

Very nice find
Congrats
