Kettleman City

From what I understand a person can no longer ride atv’s in Kettleman City. Does this also stop the use of a side by side for prospecting? And can you prospect the area? I know a person used to be a able too.

That is Kettleman City California

I'm guessing the law is against unlicensed wheelers on public streets and roads. I think that law is pretty universal but sometimes ignored in rural settings.

It is a old OHV Park. About 1000 acres of desert.

What would you be prospecting for? My wife grew up there and used to ride with her dad in those hills. As far as I remember, they have been closed to riding for some time. We left that area about six years ago. 18 years in Coalinga was enough for me. I know guys that ride in the hills behind Coalinga and the hills that run along the east side of HWY 33, north of avenal.
