Detector(s) used
DFX, COMPASS SCANNER,
finds from last few days, fair ground I dug up this star pin and about freaked when I first saw it but I think its more modern
than CW, only 20 yards from US buckle I found in 2009 so you can imagine. The bracelet I thought was wire but when I went to throw out trash from my pouch I seen it was twisted and showed a tiny bit of gold color, I cleaned it a little but I believe its plated.
then Sat morning I went head hunting and found a small chipped axe or chopper that lookjs like it was hafted, I will post it on artifact section, also a flake core and a wild looking fossil. then that evening I went across the street to my bullet field and found another one, it looks to be a 32 cal maybe? after that the signals were getting slow so I went home a whole 75 yards away and started detecting and got a signal that jumped from 52 to 63 or so on DFX at 4 inches 50 feet from my back door, I dug the plug and look what falls out the bottom my first eagle I button. my block and a couple others were all part of a large encampment durring CW. I added some pics of house in relation to the field and also where I dug the button. sorry for the long missouri wind and thanks for looking. wes JYD...

WHATS BEST WAY TO CLEAN BUTTON?

Been hitting it for a couple weeks,. found 5 different bullets, not to much else. there is a old house thats private that sits in it.
and i have only hunted one side of the three that the field surrounds, so hope to find more. I was down for awhile with my back so I am just now getting back in it. Anyway thanks for the reply as well as everyone elses, its great to have this sight to share your finds. Take care everybody and good luck. JYD...

The broach thing looks like the French Cross de Guerre, forgive my French spelling, or the German Blue Max. Well, almost.

That's great stuff, it makes ya wonder what actually went on around your house doesn't it? You're right, this site is kool, I could be up all night reading this stuff, and usually am...lol. if only that old tree across the road could talk, eh?

your item in the first pic, top left. I believe thats petrfied wood.

It looks like it should be petrified wood, doesn't it. I'll bet that is the ax he mentioned. I wonder if the stone is "local".
