A friend of mine has a beautiful old stone school house circa 1840, I've detected this property so many times. Now unfortunately over the years the landscape has been built up perhaps a foot with brought in soil. The odd coin has popped out over the times spent detecting there, clad mostly. I recently dug this crotal right along the back area where the tree line meets the grass. I did a gentle clean with a mild natural soap and holy was the inside ever packed full of dirt. The patina is remarkable for sure. What a gem with a weight of 270 grams, no idea of the number it is. Perhaps someone in here can offer that. 3 inch top to bottom and the width at the rim is about 2-5/8 inch. The sound this bell makes is beautiful for it's size. Cheers and hh all.
