My hunt yesterday with cjon455. .
Not a banner day either. .But when the king comes out of the hole I know im not skunked..A couple of IH's to boot..and a big flat button. .And a couple of buckles...The great thing about yesterday was share time with fellow hunters...Thanks for making that long drive down Chris...Next time your day...

All I can make out is 173 too. Did you try tooth picking that big chunk over the 4th number? I don't know why you and Chris are complaining about your finds. You both have some very good ones. I can show you guys a forgettable hunt!

Great finds Vino. Keep working at that spot of verdigris over the last number. It looks like it may come off eventually... and there's definitely a lot of detail there below it. Like you said, any time a KG makes an appearance you know you're "not skunked". Am I seeing detail on that large flat button or is it my imagination? Also, that looks like an 1873 "closed 3" version of the IH. check it for a doubled liberty on the headband... worth a bit as an error coin if it has the doubled liberty.

Thanks...And yes it does have a design around the out side...And I checked the IH..No double liberty..Shucks...lol
