King George III token

Found this uncommon token just before the cold snowy weather arrived.
I love finding tokens/coins that you don’t see dug up to often.nice way to end the season.

I’m pretty sure these tokens are a common find in England, not so much here.

Cool find. I always thought these large copper tokens were needed in NA because of a shortage of coinage in the early 1800’s. I didn’t think the UK had the same need.

Im not sure, I think the shortage was felt in the UK too,but nothing compared to NA.
