This would have been a nice looking specimen without the 22 caliber hole in it!

I also happened upon a whole boatload of earthenware crock pieces near a stone wall, many of which fit together. Of particular interest are the 3 fragments that join together to spell MABBETT & ANTHONE PO’KEEPSIE NY.

Lots of broken glass and china and 2 intact bottles.13E09FE6-57BE-4EA8-8326-76AB9213DBA2.webpABF6E1C9-92BD-4BF9-9C18-63404579171D.webpCD484BDD-AAD4-4109-855B-F010B87BFA51.webpD48948F8-7B3E-48AD-A741-651B46B484D7.webp

There was also a nice oil lamp wick assembly labelled VENU F.M. & Co. The wick turner still operates nicely.

Thanks for looking!
Nick

Nice assortment of finds. Thanks for sharing...

That would've been one really sweet LC with the shot, but nice regardless- Cool finds!

Nice! And with character to boot. Congrats on some nice finds.

Thanks, JeffInMass! It had such nice solid green patina to it too...

Thank you RVRoamer66! This is the 3rd coin with bullet hole damage that I've found locally. The first 2 were silver GW Quarters. I often wonder if the people that do this ever expect to recover their targets...

Very nice hunt, congrats! :occasion14:

Thanks, Tommy! Most of these targets were near a stone wall at the bottom of a gentle slope. Some rich dark soil there.

Thank you, washingtonian! I hope to return and collect more bottles and crock shards. Maybe I'll be able to reconstruct a crock or 2?

Good stuff!
Thanks, Switchblade!
The 2 intact bottles were actually under some rocks at the base of the stone wall.
