Hit a couple of new fields today in the hope of finding a field half as good as the last one, the fist field proved to be a bit trashy but we stuck it out for a couple of hours, first decent find a 1922 Silver Sixpence Silver is Silver no matter what the date, Michael had the first Hammered in the form of an Elizabeth penny quite worn and not much detail left which is usuall for this coinage. The farmer had given us two freshly sewn fields the second just over the road from the first so after a quick bite we headed of to this one, hadn't been in the field for no longer than three or four minutes when I was holding my fifteenth Hammered of the year and a first for this monarch King Henry V111 1509-1547 unfortunately the coin had been pierced to be used as a charm, heading up the same row I picked of the surface a Silver Buckle Ring at first I thought it might be Medieval but after a bit of soil removal I saw the stamp inside the ring, turning round and heading back down the field I had my second Hammered another Henry V111 Sovereign Penny this is the second time this year that I have found a new Hammered type then found another straight away this one turned out a bit better than the first being a 2nd coinage issue Durham,Prince-Bishop Cuthbert Tunstal. Getting 2 off these Coins in quick succession had me thinking Hoard but this one proved to be the last decent find of the day
