Kissing penny? 1976 penny with two faces? Why?

Found a 1976 penny with an extra face stamped on it. Does anyone know what the deal is with it? Does it have magical powers...haha. It is a gimmick? Or do people just do it for fun?

It has John F. Kennedy stamped on it. These pennies were glued to book mark type cards with information about jfk on them.

I have found one out of the hundreds of dollars of cents I have searched. I guess they aren't very common coin roll hunting, but I see a lot of them still on the cards at flea markets and yard sales.
