I found this old knife yesterday at a flea market. It appears to be all handmade. What I CAN'T figure out is if it was a kitchen knife or side knife. Is there any surefire way to determine this, or is it like most other unknowns--anybody's guess!
Thanks for looking and please let me know if you have any ideas, theories, etc. Thanks!

If it were thicker, with a handguard, it would be a side knife / Bowie / Utility knife. It is a butcher knife.
