I did a quick walk after work today and found a few nice pieces. The Oxbow point is 1½" long.
Mountrail County, ND
The in-situ is of the Oxbow how I found it in the stream bed.....didn't figure I'd pull a complete point out! 20210527_142645.webp20210527_142728.webp20210527_142744.webp20210527_142824.webp20210527_142841.webp20210527_182022.webp20210527_142809.webp20210527_144145.webp20210527_144116.webp

What kind of material is that?

Knife River Flint is the lithic. Knife river NoDak..

Is that one early archaic? Our jaspers here are not clear at all.

That is a great find, but I like the knife also. :icon_thumleft:

Nice oxbow.

That other stuff hints at folsom .

You're probably getting tired of all the KRF stuff you find so I'll gladly take some off your hands for you! Great finds!

KRF is actually silicified lignite. It has white specks in it that are part of a cattail swamp that was covered by the deposit. KRF has eroded out of it's original deposit and can be found where it was redeposited as cobbles in Dunn and Mercer Counties in ND. It was quarried by digging pits. Lots of them. Here's a pic of one quarry. This is the Lynch quarry. Click to enlarge and you'll see the thousands of pits. Gary

Thanks newnan! You tell me where to send it and I'll put some in the mail for you.....I've got way too much of it. I keep a ziplock bag in my truck for all the broken stuff and it's getting full.

Very nice relics, the large scraper is outstanding
