Been hitting a spot fairly hard for the last couple months. It was for all intents and purposes virgin ground. On the edge of a known small civil war camp and on old plantation grounds. I've so far pulled 4 gorgeous spurs, 50 or so bullets, one pelican button, and various other relics. Of the coins I've pulled were an 1854 seated dime, an 1857o H10c in amazing condition, an 1853 largie and a so far dateless draped bust large cent. For all that I wasn't expecting to see this beautiful lady today when I dug what I thought was another bullet!

Those are killer finds! Congratulations 👍

Congrats on the great coins & relics. Love the dragon looking copper/brass piece. What you reckon that is/was?
No clue but it was only a few feet from the capped bust and about the same depth. I really like it too whatever it is!

Awesome!!! Congrats!!!

Congrats to the beautiful silver.
The brass item is off a flintlock rifle, I believe it's a escutcheon.

Killer finds - a big congrats on finding such a scarce coin and also your first one !
I've only ever found one- also a 1837 like yours.
1837 was the last year they minted the Capped Bust Half Dimes - I'd say we were both pretty lucky ! :occasion14:
