at the local auction last weekend. Nabbed this very cool Seoul Korea cig set from 1954, a purple heart! and a few other merit and good conduct etc.. medals for $35. I think that was a steal. I have never been able to figure out a reason why family gets rid of the medals? Anyway the 5th Air Force emblems are perfect enameled disks. Put them up on the Fleabay to see if they get any bites

War metals often get left unattended as time goes by and if it's not handed down within the family they'll just end up slipping into the open market and worse discarded away. There are groups that do attempt to reunite these to the rightful descendants.

I agree with tamrock.

Very nice lighter

I have reunited a few myself however none of these are marked

It's sad. I have a Purple Heart somewhere that was in a jewelry bag.

Pull it out and see if it has a serial number on the rim at the point. The early serialized ones bring very good $$$$ They are from WW1 and the Mexican wars

Not even sure exactly where it's at. If "Hoarders" ever pays me a visit, I may find it.

Sad to see the purple heart but nice finds
