Could solve this one simply by the spoken clue

Light lantern 1, let remaining lanterns run through only lantern 5 has a “0″.
Mark this “0″ in the coordinates (binary “on = 1″): —-/1—-
Light lantern 2, run through the lanterns again - lantern 9 has a “0″.
Mark this “0″ as a 1 in the coordinates: —-/1—1
Continue the above until all lanterns have been lit, you will be left with the followng co-ordinates: 1–1/1–11
The remaining coordinates are filled as “0″ (binary ‘off’).
result: 1001S 10011E
