L & L Refinery - Anyone Use These Guys For Scrapping Gold?

I am getting ready to ship off some scrap gold. Has anyone ever used L & L Enterprises out of Kenosha Wisconsin?

I thought about using them or these guys Midwest Refineries in Waterford Michigan.

these guys are very good, they pay 98% on gold and 90% for silver and will send any stones in your jewelry back to you. you can also have an account and they will hold your gold until you tell them to melt (that way you can wait for the best gold prices)

98% sounds good to me. Thanks for the link.

Do I need a Pawn Brokers license, or do they deal w/regular joes like me?

The reason I had brought up L & L and Midwest, is I believe they both will settle up with you via a combination of coins and check/bank wire.

I wanted to get an Indian Head $5.00 Half Eagle and a $2.50 Liberty Head Quarter Eagle and the remainder in $$$

I have the following to send out:

All measured in penny weight (dwt)

8k - 4.2
9k - 12.2
14k - 38.9
24k - 1.0

Does ARA take 8k and 9k? i have seen s few places that only list 10k, but they don't specifically exclude 8 or 9k either so I'm not sure.

They will take any gold. The acid reducers like ARA will simply dissolve your gold and weigh the pure gold that is left over. The firey folks melt all your gold then assay the brick left over to see what percentage of gold it is. I use a places that melts. 10k brings the percentage down while 18k brings it up. I have been withing $17 or less of what I expected my payout to be all year.
