Found a foot down at an old building demolition site. It's brass with a black finish of some sort. The bell shaped end makes me think of a horn, speaker, or siren, but, I've never seen one that was "L" shaped like this, and has a 3 bolt mounting flange on the other end. There is a symbol (electrical?) stamped into both sides of it too, but nothing electrical inside.

Looks like a bent candlestick holder to me. The larger end would be the base and the candle would go in the smaller end.

It was made in a 90 degree angle, not bent that way. The holes are almost big enough to put your hand inside, so, unlikely for a candle even if it was wall mounted.

How about a ship horn or vent such as this;
Ship Horn/Vent
That seems a lot closer, although they don't seem to know which it is either. The bell shaped end seems to me would indicate horn more than vent.

It looks like the bell section of an old Rubes-style car horn.
