Folks, it's over, but the memories and pictures have just begun! :D Wanted to start a thread where everyone could join in and share with all the rest of us!

As of 11:15 this morning (Monday), it's quiet here. shhhhhhhhh Only the wind is blowing and even the chickens are off somewhere else. Forget Daisy and Pepper. They bit the dust at dawn. Probably won't budge until Wednesday afternoon!

I want to thank everyone for all their help and super joyful spirits! It really was like a reunion that you REALLY want to go to! And Ms. Brenda (the other Brenda), you're hired!! My relatives HAD to come and help ::) ;D , but you busted your buns everyday behind the scenes doing the dirty jobs that even I didn't want to do! And she's just an A$$! Give her a job and she'd run out and recruit other A$$es and now and then some hunters, and before I knew it, it was like white lightning had gone through.

Speaking of white lightning, Thanks, Olegoat, for the sip. And the words of encouragement from all the hunters who stood around to watch. "DON'T take a deep breath!" over and over and over. Thought I was going to suffocate myself! Once was enough, though. Good different stuff! :tard:

I think I wore 'em out, folks. By Sunday afternoon at 3:15, at the last site, I went back to check on everybody and bring them some cold water. When I pulled in to the haunted house, it was like a machine gun battery had gone through. They were layin' down on the front porch sprawled out like dead ducks. Two diehards were still out digging, but their tongues were hanging out. An hour later, every one of them was back at headquarters, dragging and red as beets. ENOUGH! Two and a half days may just be the limit! ;D :dontknow:

Tables and chairs were picked up at 10:30 this morning, which opened up the greenhouse and showed all the battle scars. If it wasn't for the HUGE garbage bags that MrMorph brought us, we'd have overstepped our limit of 6 bags a week. ;D Boy, is that garbage man going to be surprised! Dan did mutter something about "We gotta find a garbage man to make into a MDer before we do this again..."

We learned a few things: Cook light the first day, heavier on Day Two, and tremendously on Day Three! AND, keep Cheesecake Hunk VERY happy!! I think he brought almost 100 pounds of cheesecake, no lie! And we ate about 80 pounds of it and gave the rest as prizes. SUCH a sweetheart!

Ok, that's all for now. The portapotty man is here and Dan says I HAVE to come out and meet him and tell him all about the hunt. Wish I had a cork ...

Oh, and I owe River Rat big time! After falling into bed at 2:30 this morning, my phone rings at 8:00. "Oh, are ya'll still sleeping??" I didn't say what I owed her, but it ain't gonna be pretty!! ;D

More later ...

lol Run River Rat Run! Gracious you guys sure went to a LOT of work to make that hunt special for everyone and I am not sure how you are even still moving and yet obviously there is more to be done. I know I was not there but I sure appreciate it anyway! Thanks! Try and get some rest!

I know I was NOT there.. but watching on the StoneyCam I felt like I was... listening to conversations and music... what a great treat that you guys hooked that up! THANK you!

I'm glad all had fun and all were safe...

After seeing pictures and friends I had to hold my self back from starting the next hunt. I am glad some one else got tired after putting one on. I thought it was just me. Thank you for sharing with us what had to be a great time. Rest up TNetter's another one is coming around the corner.

Man oh man. Had I known how much fun this was going to be, I think we would have shown up Wednesday. Needless to say, myself and Katrina, ( The soon to be Mrs. Zen ) are more than likely going to become fixtures at any hunts anyone plans to throw within a 1k mile radius or so. The food was good, the detecting was good, and more so than anything else, the camaraderie of new friends made with similar interests and "wonderful" senses of humor are not soon to be forgotten. I'd like to thank all of you guys for making a treasure hunting noob such as myself feel like I had been around you guys all my life. :P In particular, I'd like to thank Wazari, Rudy, Fonfixer, Sniffer, Jaunmoretime, Raidersfan, Baldingboy, Mastereagle, Scrounger, Oldgoat, Roswellborn, RiverRat, TexasConnection,Baggins, John37115,....Hmmm.... There were only a few people I "didn't" talk to or have some laughs with. (There's no shutting me up is there??) Any or all of you are welcome to come down to the Leesville/Fort Polk area and hit some spots with me and the little lady. (Just give me a weeks notice to get permission) :P. I'll keep my "Hundred dollar bill" for the CTH and we'll see if we can find some treasure hunters. :P

Most importantly of all, Thank you Noodle, Dan and Riverrat for giving me the best weekend of the last 20 years or so. :P

Well I knew it was going to be an adventure as soon as I pulled into the driveway, and a loooong driveway at that. Glad my mother-in-law let me use her little Toyota Camry for the trip. Great gas mileage and made it through all that mud without getting stuck, even though it looks like I took it mud bogging. What a fantastic weekend! Noodle and Dan, you and your family are special people and I appreciate everything you folks did to make the hunt a truly special event. It was so much more than a hunt, I would say it was like a weekend long social event with a lot of detecting going on. It was great to see everyone from the CTH and meet new people as well. Between our hosts, Noodle and Dan and to River Rat and all the people that worked on getting prizes and the people that contributed prizes (a whole bunch of prizes) I want to say A BIG THANK YOU! This was my second hunt with many of you and I have to say, I look forward to these hunts more than any. People from all over with all sorts of detectors just having a great time together. I don't believe I heard a harsh word or detector bashing conversation all weekend. I also would like to say, Bridge End Farm, it was a pleasure to meet you, you are certainly one of the most persistant people I have ever met. Since that 4th set of keys didn't turn up for you we were all glad you got a nice prize. We all wanted it but very happy you got it. Thanks to Cyn, Me, Goldie and everyone that had a hand in getting the F2 for a prize. My grandson went bonkers when I gave it to him today. He is 9 and it is very light so he will be able to detect longer when I take him out. As for the Cheesecake hunk, my family says this is the absolute best cheese cake they have ever tasted. I had my camera but there were so many pictures and videos being made I didn't bother. Hope to see a bunch of picks and videos up on here over the next few days. You are a great bunch and I hope to see many of you at the CTH this fall.

Very cool!! Glad the grandson liked the F2 and it might keep your hunting partner out with ya longer! Sounds like a fabulous time for everyone and I am still wishin I could have dug into those pictures of cheesecake! lol

Noodle honey,
If the TNetters are all worn out, heaven only knows how you must feel!

Bless your hearts for all you did, gave, sweated, chopped, cooked, steered, etc etc etc for this past weekend to be so fabulous. You worked your hineys off, and I hope you can all put your feet up and just soak in the silence for a little while. Or until the roosters crow or something.

You have a beautiful home and were incredibly generous to share it with so many folks.

thank you, thank you, thank you.

Nan

We had leftover desserts and fruits, thanks to Cheesecake Hunk, and knew they wouldn't last long, so today I made a handout run. Left one cake with my aunt and cousin, who shared the Hub/Grandma Cora's place/haunted house with us. Went out past where we hunted on Josh and Virginia's place and delivered the strawberries, angel food cake and basket of fruits with a family from our church who have a member who was in the hospital for 42 days and finally! she's home, and left the remaining half-cheesecake over at Rheba and Terry's place (our very competant and gracious cooks this weekend!). They have an extended family, so I'm sure it won't last long.

As for the crawfish tails, which several folks helped to prepare on Saturday, they're frozen and BOY! will they ever make some great ettouffe (is that spelled right?)! Yummmm! There are bonuses to working hard to feed a big crew!

Rheba, Terry (cooks, construction, handy-people, etc.), Rebecca (their daughter and cook and cleanup goddess) and Shea (Rebecca's husband and musician) came over tonight and shared leftovers with us (spiesbraten, potatoes and salad). We discussed the whole weekend and outlined our drawbacks. Look out! 8) 8) If there's going to be an LBH II, we'll have improvements!!!

Just chatting as I recall the events.

One thing I remember more than any other. When the top prize winners (for finding the keys) were narrowed down to one ... I remember the hush that came over the whole room as everyone waited to hear what the prize would be. As the description was given, "1882 ... Five Dollar ... GOLD ... coin," everyone ERUPTED with arms in the air and shouts and hoots as soon as the word GOLD was uttered!" That was one exciting moment. I wish I had a picture from my point of view! YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST!!! You were just so totally captivated in the moment and so supportive of the winners, all the way around!

I may have misremembered the coin year, but it was in the 1880s. :-[

Posted this in the not so right spot...........Angela and I got back home to Baton Rouge around 12:30 this morning. Wanted to say we had such a wonderful time. It was absolutly wonderful to meet so many of you in person. What a great bunch of folks!!! We look forward to seeing you all again! Noodle, say hello to Dan! He is one awesome man! I havnt laughed so much in ages. I especially liked the music and playing with all the wonderful musicians. Thanks everone for a fantastic time. Look forward to the CTH if we can by any chance make it. Shanegalang.........Shane

Well what can I say? After the last few days I don't even know where to begin.

I met so many awesome people but NOT one of them was awesome enough to take Baldingboy off my hands so I had to drive home today the entire way listening to him go on and on and on and on about the Indian war relics and the silver dollar!!! At one point he got out to go to the bathroom at a gas station and I almost left him! But I just couldn't leave my hunting buddy stranded!

You were all great and I cannot tell you how blessed I feel to have been a small part of this event!

I cannot wait for the next hunt so I can reunite with some old friends and make new ones.

Noodle and Dan Thanks again. Thank you just doesn't seem to cover it.

Until next hunt

I will never be able to put into words what I feel but here goes anyway. Noodle & Dan you guys will never know what effect you have had on people. Ya'll touch people heart & soul in a way that will last a lifetime. By the way folks this is not coming from someone who got to detect their property this is just an A$$ (Abandoned Spouse Society (if you folks would come to these things I wouldn't feel compelled to explain every time)) saying this. It amazes me that I went from such dread going on the first trip to Otterville to being elated and saving vacation time to go see Burdie in Caldwell, Ks, to just making the assumption that Nana was going to come with me to the LA hunt at your place (sure glad she decided to make the trip ;D). I have never met two people that had bigger hearts than you guys. Please extend thanks to everyone involved (I can't remember names cause the only time I am here is when ya'll have a get together). Thanks again for a wonderful time. By the way I would suggest putting a little present out for the trash guys and Dan I hope the truck is gone or we may have to borrow Gunsmoke's telescope. Thanks again everyone for a great time.

Nana's Hubby said it best

There really are no words that can precisely describe what you all did and what a wonderful time it was.

The gifts, awards and prizes were awesome. For myself I discovered more than I could of ever dreamed. Meeting great folks and taking friendships to a more personal family level. Having tons of laughs and 100s of digs. Stomping thru woods and wading in the creek (bayou) looking, looking and looking. lol The :coffee2:, tales and music were impelling. Seeing folks previous finds that have been posted on here in real life where I could feel and touch them was amazing. The skills and talents others shared with me I am forever grateful. Seeing the excitement of those in our next generation as they dug targets was priceless.

Those who didn't come well I will let out a secret on Noodle. All of us that came discovered her avatar is really her hubby Dan in real life.

Okay, everyone said I should, so I did -- I created my own user name, lol. I am short on time, so I will say that I agree with absolutely everything everyone has had to say. It is all true and it was a blast. What can be better, good food, good friends, good laughter, and good finds. The only thing I would like to add that it seems folks forgot with the rockstar rooster, Phil, who provided much entertainment for some of us. Thanks Noodle, Dan and everyone else who made this such a memorable weekend. I enjoyed meeting each and everyone of you -- and oh yeah, Phil, the rooster too (pic below). Looking forward to another hunt in the future.
