LA Bayou Hunt - day 3 & aftermath (& a teensy bit of day 2)
Lordy, I don't know where to start.
I was lazy the first full day of the hunt (Saturday), didn't actually get out there until after lunch. It was nice though, just shmoozing with whoever was hanging around, until the brain cells actually started firing properly. Went out to "the chimney" after lunch and dug until the brain cells were back to normal non-functioning status.
Third day, I discovered I was so stiff that I kinda tipped myself out of bed, rather than leaping to greet the day. I limbered up well enough to drive myself to Noodle's, and found that I'd stiffened up again just that quick. Ouch. Went to the site of the day and dug some, watched - and helped a bit - while the youngest hunter excavated the largest find. I KNOW there are pictures of that one, somewhere. Wild.
Heard Nana holler when she found her IH - and MB as he found his silver quarter. Loaned my Ace to the homeowner, just to you know, what the heck, give it a try. heheh. When you work in a yarn shop, you learn how to enable. I am darn good at my job!
I spent way too much time digging a hole to China, using my brand-spankin' new pinpointer (read that as "I only sort of get the gist of how to use the thing"). anyway, I used the pinpointer, poking and prodding at the bottom of the whole and hearing an ever-shifting tone... Come to find out, the target was in the SIDE of the hole all along. I don't have a picture yet, and I *think* the thing is behind the passenger seat. Maybe. Anyway, it was a crumpled up tin can, in the side of the hole. gawd.
Anyway, I headed out after lunch, and am checked in for the night in Batesville. I can't even think, I'm so tired. As soon as I get home, I'll download the pictures (i.e. get Tim to do it for me) and post some of them. I was thrilled with my goodies and am looking forard to posting pics of them.
Gonna hit the sack methinks
Nan
