IM between south haven and grand haven I do know the beaches have had waiting lines to park the last few weekends so should be plenty of targets. Good luck.

I'm eithe going to ludington where I know they are metal detector friendly or take a chance up in traverse city where they may kick me out of the park. Lol I know traverse city is a high rent area and they may have anti metal detecting rules.

U should be fine there. Grand haven is also ritzi and July 5 there were 11 guys on beach at 7am

Traverse city state park is open to metal detecting. It is usually pretty busy, but it has been pretty cool up here for the last month so I would say it is not as crowded as normal. There are also beaches downtown, that I have never been bothered at.

Good Luck,

Pete

Ok guys I went up to traverse to check it out, it's full of canslaw but also hot chicks running around everywhere. I got a 1946 quarter and a Bluetooth headset that was the only keepers. I will go back some day it's a nice place. If you go be sure you wear water shoes like I said lots of canslaw

Congrats on the Quarter did you get it from the state park? I haven't pulled much silver out of there. You are correct the scenery can be very nice.

I always wear the water shoes, I dug the base of an old beer bottle out before by the state park, if it was the wrong direction it could have been bad. You never know what's in the water.

HH,

Pete

I was up town at clinch park, the iron targets are everywhere. If you look for the little stones on the bottom where the current carried away the sand and dig there it's where all the old stuff is hiding. I made my own scoop with no metal in it so every scoop I scan for targets.

I made these and they are tuff, you can't break em.
