Land-Mag let us know that a new site we discovered this year was disced down a bit. The last time we looked at the site it was a semi-ankle-breaker. With field hunting timing is everything, & the conditions were perfect. ie. pretty flat after a deep plough, but before drilling. What wasn't so nice was the boggy mud, in places it was more water than mud. So the 5 hours felt more like 8, but it was worth it. This low yield site has only produced 43 coins in all our previous outings put together but today we got 34!
34 Roman Coins
2 Broken Roman Brooches
1 Nice Roman Brooch - Type I've never seen & can't ID (anyone?), as its not in my books! The pin type suggests 1st C AD, it was once tinned & I'm thinking a Military import.
1668 Token
Tudor Knife Terminal
Circa 20BC Celtic Bronze Unit of Tasciovanus - Warrior on Horse (Rare type)
