We can drive to the past - or part of it - in Schuylkill County.

Two centuries have not worn away everything that stood in the county on the day of its birth.

A handful of log structures and a number of graveyards with tall, thin headstones, inscribed in a language few understand anymore, have held their own against the ravages of time.

Yes, I noticed the county history is not as defined as other counties.
Seems alot of history was lost along the way.

I would have to say that depending on how far back you are searching for info you would have to look into Berks, Dauphin, or Northumberland Counties before Schuylkill was formed in 1810.
