Went looking for a house on a 1853 map of my area. There was not a lot of flat area for it to be (maybe 15 feet of flat land then it drops down to a creek) and no sight of a foundation or well (maybe used creek for well since it's right there) but I think I found 'er.

#14 FTY don't know what the other roundish thing is. It isn't magnetic and appears to be copper but it's too thick and heavy to be a coin IMO.

Wow!! Awesome find and total!!

Research does pay off! Cograts on the LC. That's a crazy good total for the year. Keep 'm coming!

You've found a great early site there. Are you sure the second disc is NOT another large cent? The earliest large cents (1793-95) featured thicker planchets and a slightly smaller diameter. Those coins had writing on the edge ("ONE HUNDRED FOR A DOLLAR").

I don't think it is a coin. The middle is thicker and it gets narrower as you get to the edge. I don't see any details on it at all but I'll post some pics here shortly

Calibers battery is dead but it weighs 17.38 grams. Looks to be oval

14 Large Cents!!!! Very Nice!!! I'll be Estatic when I find My first!! Congrats!!!

Living on the east coast gives you an appreciation for the fact that virtually all of the left coast hunters will never find 14 LC's in their hunting careers and you've done it in a few months- Strong work- Congrats!

Hopefully you'll run across one sooner than later

You're not kidding I wish my area was a little older to have a better shot at more colonial and older copper but I won't do too much complaining. Thanks just a lot of research and then heading out to locate what you've researched. Going to try and find 2 houses and a saw mill shortly

Congrats on the latest large cent! You've been finding some good stuff, Thebigd81!

Nice finds keep on the look out for some old bottles maybe near that creek

Nice job on the LC.

Couldn't find the 2 locations I went out to find but did stop at another spot and sniffed out #15 FTY and a couple mid 1800 buttons. The copper Lincoln took a wrong turn somewhere along the way. Did scare up a 1970s Pepsi bottle
too
