Spend few hours in the wind today. Got about 20 Wheaties, 1 1899 indian, 1916 barber dime and a large copper (trying to ID). The large copper has a left facing head and the reverse looks like a seated liberty? Any ideas what this could be. I'm trying to gently get some of the dirt off but the coin seems very fragile. Thanks for looking.

Your coin is a British King George II Halfpenny and dates 1746-1754.

Wow nice digs! Love the old copper. Not in bad shape either;)

Thanks IP..i knew it was something like that..lol
George

The range is 1729 - 1754, but with the old head and V in Georgivs it narrows it down a little.

I don't think I'll be able to get a date on this toasty copper, you say it's in the range 1729-1754?

Nice old coin there

That's a nice KG, barber and indian!
