Got out again to the same spot as yesterday where I found the William the III halfpenny. I continued gridding off the back end of this field and the finds weren't very plentiful, but I did manage to snag some nice early buttons, one being a very nice 2 piece, only the back is missing. Found a fired flat based sharps and a fired 3 ringer and various sized fired round balls. Got a nice quarter reading while gridding and thought for sure an old silver quarter or maybe some Spanish silver, but instead it was a nice large silver mans ring(or very large woman!) with .925 and Avon stamped on the inside. The ring appears to have quite a bit of age to it by the design. Apparently Avon has been around since the very early 1900's. I added a video to show the advantage of having a bunch of snow on the ground! Thanks for looking and HH!

Love The Buttons!

What in the world do you use to dig ? Never tried in those conditions before. Nice finds too btw !

Snow also provides great insulation. Ground was soft.

Congratulations. Great pictures and saves. I like hunting in the snow. Can tell where you've been and, as your picure shows, easy to grid off.

Wonderful buttons & what a hunk of a silver ring! Congrats! :hello2: :headbang: Enjoyed the useful video and the scenic snow pics of your area. HAVE FUN! Andi

Nice finds Matt & interesting video. I'm surprised I didn't see the snow "fluffed' on either side of your tracks where the coil was closer to the ground. I guess it's not necessary with the F75 Bud. HH & stay warm, Q.

It wasn't necessary, Quindy, you're right. lol Even with the coil above the snow I still got targets anywhere from 10 inches to over a foot. Plus the snow build up on the coil would make it heavy. I had to keep kicking the snow off of it. HH

Love the video! I use the same idea but my tracks will be in the morning dew. Ohh how I miss the morning dew......

VPR

Thanks VPR. Yes, the dew works well as well, only bad part is that wears off through the morning. If the snow wasn't there I certainly would not be able keep focused enough to grid such a large section.

Thank ya, thank ya!
