Jason and I hit a few spots.First an old farm site/Seminary/college,got a 36 merc. half a bull nose ring.Next spot was a VERY VAST middle 1600's field freshly ploughed for winter,I mean BIG!!!!!!! Enough for a small airport. Reminded me of Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mtns.We hunted 9 hrs. Buffalo, buttons, suspender part, thimble, bag seal, cool brass hinge,a bunch of flat wear in one area.9 hrs.wore me out,I think Jason was slowing too! God Bless Chris 007.webp

Got pics wrong you get the drift.

Love those buttons!

I was slow to rise the next morning, still exhausted, but well worth it! Thanks for hunting with me, it was a pleasure as always. I went back to the 1600's site yesterday, managed an ox ring, a 1902 Indian, a nice brass thimble, and a few sweet gilt buttons, Victorian era broach and matching earring, and another brass ring (this one still has the stoner) all in about 1 hour. Close to where we hunted at the end of the day, but in the short grass. I will post them when I get some fresh batteries for the camera. I'm going back for a few hours after work today to reconn another field, gather some intel for our next big hunt!

worldtalker, did any of the silverware have the SC marking on the face of the handles? HH

Cool finds.I say you are in a great spot with more treasures awaiting.

I'm ready when ever you are!!!

I went back to the giant field today after work, met a nice guy who was out detecting the main field with the grass. He gave me a few pointers on places he's had success. His Etrac goes nice and deep in that soil. I managed a semi-key 1871 2 cent coin with AU-uncirculated details, a 1919 wheat (which I dropped at my truck and didn't find again) a broken sterling spoon (not plated for once) more arrowheads and some musket balls. I'm free all day Sunday if you want to give it a go!
