Picked up a few bags in my weekly coin run

5 - $50 bags of pennies
1 - $1000 bag of dimes
$2.50 in loose half dollars

Nothing in the half dollars

The $1000 bag of dimes was good for silver content, my best actually.

11 pre-1965 Roosevelt (1948-S, 1951, 1960-D, 1962-D(2), 1963-D, 1964, 1964-D(4))

11 Canadian (1969, 1973, 1974, 1975(2), 1980, 1986, 1989, 2000, 2005-P(2))

3 Foreign (Bermuda, 10 Cents (1990), Ecudor, 10 Centavos (2000), Germany, 1 Pfennig (1977-F))

11 pennies ground down to the size of dimes, including a 1957-D wheat penny.

1 quarter

1 tiny washer

Oh and I also picked up a 1987 canadian dime out of the reject slot while cashing in some pennies.

Congrats on the silver!
I love bags rather than rolls, wish I could get em here.
Why would someone grind down the cents? Doesn't seem worth it for .09 profit, lol

15 wheat pennies (1936-D, 1939, 1940, 1941, 1945(2), 1946-D, 1950, 1951-D(2), 1953-D, 1955, 1955-D(2), 1958-D)

23 Canadian (1963, 1964, 1965, 1969, 1970, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1982, 1983, 1986, 1987, 1989, 1991, 1993(2), 1994, 1995, 1996, 2000, 2001, 2005, 2006)

Re: Last couple of days 11-13-2004 and 11-14-2004

Finished another bag of pennies from this batch.

Pretty good as well.

18 wheat pennies (1917-S, 1941(2), 1942(3), 1943, 1944, 1944-D, 1945(2), 1948, 1949-S, 1951-D(2), 1955-D, 1958-D(2))

22 Canadian (1943, 1944, 1963, 1968, 1971(2), 1976, 1978(2), 1979(2), 1981, 1983, 1984, 1986, 1987, 1991(2), 1992, 1996, 1998(2))

1 - 2000 Wide AM

1 fake penny

The 1917-S will fill a hole in my book.

Finished off another of the penny bags from the same branch as the couple hundred wheat pennies.

Pretty good bag.

1 Unknown date wheat penny.
30 other wheat pennies (1933-D, 1936, 1937, 1940, 1941-S Small S, 1941-S Large S, 1945(3), 1945-D(2), 1945-S, 1946(2), 1946-D, 1951-D, 1952, 1952-D(2), 1953, 1953-D, 1955-D(2), 1956, 1956-D(3), 1957-D(2), 1958-D)

28 Canadian (1960(2), 1962, 1963, 1964(3), 1965, 1966(3), 1967, 1968, 1971, 1972, 1973(2), 1975(2), 1977, 1979, 1981, 1982, 1984(2), 1985, 1989, 2005)

The 1933-D is the 14th lowest mintage of the wheat pennies and removes another one from the tracking list. ;D Only 7 wheat pennies left to complete the series.

Also about halfway through the bag I noticed that it seemed like 75% were copper so although I don't normally save the copper ones, I think I might save this bag full since they are easy to sort. That and many of the copper ones are in better shape. Seems like the majority of the bag cutoff around 1985 or older.

Still one more bag from this bunch..hoping for a repeat of this bag or the couple hundred wheats, but not expecting it.

Oh and the 1933-D was in VF+ (about a $7.00 coin)

Finished the last bag of pennies from this batch this evening.

Not as good as some of the others, but not bad.

34 Canadian (1962(3), 1964, 1965, 1966, 1968(2), 1969(2), 1973, 1978, 1979, 1981(2), 1986(2), 1989(2), 1990, 1992, 1993, 1997, 1998, 1999(3), 2000, 2002(4), 2005, 2006-RCM)

I didn't count the exact number of copper from the bag, but using my approximation method (use a casino cup which holds about $12.50 when heaping) I had about $15 in Zincolns and the rest were copper or Canadian. So the bag was about 70% copper.
