Last few hunts two buffs & a quarter
I got out with Mark a couple of times last week. One of those days I found two stupid buffs. I call them stupid, because while they're fun to find, they are ugly when they come up, and are a real pain in the a@@ to clean. Anyway, one is a 24 and the other is a no-dater. It's been great seeing all the old silvers coming up and getting posted here on the forum, but I've not had much luck lately.

Today, Mark called & said he was going to the trash pit as a bunch of the other guys were there. I have a private yard hunt planned tomorrow and wanted to take the day off today, so I took a pass. About an hour later, I'm thinking about all the coils swinging out there, all the old coins being found, and thinking should I go? Nah.
I should go! Nah.
Eventually, I decided that it was time to get out, but since it was late in the day, I wanted to stay closer to home than the pit. I went to a grove a couple miles from home. I started swinging in the woods not too far from the parking area. I have never found woods so close to parking that were so clean! I honestly had to keep testing my coil because all I was getting was threshhold.
About 30 minutes in, a quarter signal sounded out, but not too deep.
I cut in & saw a dark dirty rim 1 1/2 - 2 inches down. Clad! Ugh! Well, better than nothing. I picked it up and looked at the edge but could see no telltale copper. Closer inspection revealed a very dark & dirty '36 George!

Swung around for two more hours and got two junk Jeffersons, three wheats, and a Zippo lighter. Lots of buckthorn around, and one thorn went through my jeans and broke off in my skin right above my knee. Every time I'd get down to dig, It would jab in farther and hurt, so it was time to leave. That's OK though, any day with a silver is a good one, and this was a good one!
I hope you all had good luck today! Thanks for checking my post out!
