My last find of the year (actually turned out to be the only coin I found today!)... is a Halfcrown from 1956. Its in good condition, but the photo would suggest anything but that! Its only the second coin of its type found by me in the whole year - the first one was only 10 days ago. The location in which it was found is basically considered to have been 'dug-out', hence the poor find rate for the day. My detecting mate managed a Victoria sixpence from the same field, so at least we both had something to take home after braving the cold & snow for 4 hours. We can't complain to much about the site being dug-out because we've taken a number of hammered coins, together with a host of other nice examples of copper & silver coins from it in the past month or so.
Best wishes everyone for the New Year.
hodge.
