Had a great hunt the other day as I was able to locate a pretty good debris line the plows must have created over the years. The Indian head was the first coin I found in the middle of the field. Have also found a seated dime and 2 cent coin but both of those were at the perimeter.

The buttons on the right were found previously but the flower one that came out this past trip has to be the most beautiful and my favorite so far.

A lot of the iron that pops up here is very intricately decorated. The disc in the picture below has some design on it and some gold paint remaining. I believe the women grabbing onto the pole (or vine ;D) was part of some fancy wrought iron fence.

thanks for looking and HH

The large Pewter Disc looks to be a Horse Rosette (or Horse Boss/horse furniture as we say). Need to see the other side. Because if it is, its an early Colonial type :o :o Probably the best find of the hunt!

Very nice finds, I had to buy a 1859 Indian because we do not find many of them in my area. In two years I have only found two Indians.

Yep it could be a colonial period rosette. that type of button is called a golden age button and dates 1820's -30's. They always have deep detail and are nice buttons

Wow now that would be awesome. Thanks for the heads up Crusader. As it turns out I left the camera on and all 4 sets of rechargable batteries are dead. Oh and I can't find the charger. :'(

I'll get a picture of the back side as soon as my technological problems are resolved ;D

Thanks for the info. The detail has to be the deepest of any of the buttons I've found yet. It is also twice as thick and twice as heavy.

I changed the title to see if anyone else interested in such things might be able to give an opinion about it.
