Last Saturday's Relic Find
Was able to make it out last Saturday for a little Civil War relic hunting. It has been extremely dry and the ground was hard as a rock but did manage to find a good button. Decided to try an area my brother and I found a few years ago not really expecting to find much. The area is usually always wet but Saturday it was as hard as concrete. First signal was a 3 piece Missouri button. Thought it was a staff officers button and with my bad eyes it took me awhile to figure out what it was. I remember reading that there where some Missouri troops in the area and always thought it would be nice to find the area they where in. Maybe we are getting close to finding their camp but we returned Wednesday and found very little. Going to give the area a good work over this winter and hopefully find the camp.
