Last weekend I found this Japanese tag with katakana characters and a Japanese spoon. I found these items in front of a 100 year old old Japanese building on base. The tag looks very old and is some kind of lead alloy but does not bend like lead. The spoon has a cherry blossom hallmark on the back. The Imperial Japanese Army also used Western style utensils such as spoons knives and forks in addition to chopsticks
