The material is a copper alloy.

So far other finds at the site lean towards dates of 1865-1911. The open-but-curved end has small striations that might indicate something frequently slid through it when in use. The flattest side has a hole, presumably for mounting it.

The ruler is in cm.

This thing seems so familiar, but I just can't put my finger on it.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!
